The good choice

I don’t know about you, but one ingredient I love to add in soup or dishes is the big onions.

These big onions add sweetness to the dish. My favourite would be dumping them into a pot of soup. The tomyam soup with a zing. Add lots of them to add sweetness in the midst of the spicy and sour tomyam soup.

On the other hand, you can also add it in a dish of dory fish. It is my favourite fish dish!

Of course, another dish must be fried onion rings. Unhealthy oil content, but definitely yummmss as well!

I believe the big onions contain many nutrients and minerals. I don’t know exactly what is that but I think it helps in the facial complexion. Perhaps it has anti oxidants, I suspect.

Tom yam is yums!

My second attempt to cook a bowl of hearty, delicious tom yam soup is successful.

For illustration purpose

Tom yam is characterized by its distinct hot and sour flavors, flvaoured with a variety of fragrant herbs. The basic broth is made of stock and fresh ingredients such as lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, shallots, lime juice, fish sauce, tamarind, and crushed chili peppers.

But for convenience sake, I used my housemate’s tom yam paste. My soup is actually pretty simple. I hadn’t got any seafood, so I made ado with basic ingredients such as cauliflower, fishballs, crabstick, big onion, slices of chicken and tomatoes. But I am proud to say I added authentic lemon grass, all the way from home!

Well, I am so satisfied now that I am so motivated to go grocery shopping for my next batch of tomyam soup.

Sometimes, I feel that I have missed so much in life. I only started taking tom yam soup very recently. I didn’t think I could take the spiciness, but how wrong I was! Maybe it is because of the pretty traditional and conservative family I come from, we hardly try anything not chinese when it comes to food. I am positive my dad won’t like tom yam soup, but my mummy might love it though. Let’s try when I get back home!
