Scalded hand… what happened?

After I scalded my hands, I ‘consulted’ two final year medical students.

1. This soon-to-be Year 6 student, Down Under
He told me to run my hand under the tap water for 30 minutes. Being someone who just told myself I want to be environmental friendly, I ended up dipping my hand in a bowl of water instead. It still hurt big time. It was red and whenever I move my fingers, I felt the pain. He explained that if the inflammation constricts my nerve and blood vessels, I would get compartment syndrome. Yikes. It is my right hand some more. How am I going to write?

2. Already Year 6 student, Eastern Europe
She suggested Vaseline. I put it on and voila, it worked!

When I woke up this morning, the pain was gone. It came once in a while when I move my fingers. This evening in church, after the worship session, I saw something was not right with my index finger. It was a huge blister! Disaster..

Well, I know, I know. This is taken using my mobile phone and well, I know you are sure distracted by the photo clippings behind :P

I scalded my hands - ouch!

So smart of me. I accidentally spilled the hot, near 100 degrees tea and it scalded my hand. I refused to let the mug go because it would fall and break and create more mess. So, the poor hand of mine suffered the consequences.

Painful!

Arghhh..
