Scalded hand… what happened?
After I scalded my hands, I ‘consulted’ two final year medical students.
1. This soon-to-be Year 6 student, Down Under
He told me to run my hand under the tap water for 30 minutes. Being someone who just told myself I want to be environmental friendly, I ended up dipping my hand in a bowl of water instead. It still hurt big time. It was red and whenever I move my fingers, I felt the pain. He explained that if the inflammation constricts my nerve and blood vessels, I would get compartment syndrome. Yikes. It is my right hand some more. How am I going to write?
2. Already Year 6 student, Eastern Europe
She suggested Vaseline. I put it on and voila, it worked!
When I woke up this morning, the pain was gone. It came once in a while when I move my fingers. This evening in church, after the worship session, I saw something was not right with my index finger. It was a huge blister! Disaster..
