I don’t remember feeling so unfit. I was up to another 5km jogging session. Usually, I do not take any fluid 2 hours before jogging. But this afternoon, I was actually enjoying my cup of hot green tea an hour before the jog. Maybe it was the fluid that caused my abdomen some sharp, piercing pain while I jogged. I listened to my Creative player and held on to my keys tightly. Yet, my hands felt cold and clammy.
I told myself - you’ve gotta do it! 5km, babe. 5km!
I finally finished the 5km. It was then the horror began. I was short of breath. My heart was pumping fast and hard. I could feel the blood not reaching my brain. My vision blurred. I felt unsteady. I quickly held on to the bar.
I think I over-estimated my own capability. I could have suffered a heart attack if I were a 50-year-old.

I always have this tendency to lose track of the number of rounds I make around the park when I jog. It gets frustrating because sometimes I would have to mentally give in or debate within myself. This is how short my memory can be! No matter how hard I try tracking back, I somehow just cannot remember. Sometimes I ended up jogging less rounds, sometimes more.
Sometimes I use my fingers to keep track, but it doesn’t work. Along the way, I tend to get distracted and my finger position moves.
It is just few sessions back then I found a way where I can remember. Everytime I finish one round, I give add a word to the number for descriptive purposes. For example, Seven Heaven or Nine Dine. Something that rhymes. It is easier to somehow remember it that way. Probably the association factor helped a bit.
By the time I reach the finishing line, I would remember.. oh, Four Dour, so next I think of something to relate with eight. Five Knife. Something like that. It helped me. Everytime I jog, I would think of new terms. The words should get wackier and wackier so that I would not forget. I tried with adjectives such as Great Eight. Even with funny associations such as One-Ton (read wanton).
You can also try with adjectives starting with the same letter. For example Obnoxious One, Tethered Two, Terrible Three, Fabulous Four, Fantastic Five, Sorrowful Six.. and so on and so forth. Associate it with something you see. Maybe you have jogged past a lady with very nice curves in shorts and tight sweatshirt. It’s your round 6, so call it Sexy Six.
Doesn’t it make jogging a little more fun?

I better pray for fair weather and good days for me to jog in the park with my new pair of running shoes. Yes, a good pair of running shoes.

It is light. It looks solid. It is size 4.5!!
I have real tiny feet. I could even fit in size 4, it is so unbelievable. But I ended up with 4.5 because I have been using 4.5 all along. The previous one lasted nearly half a decade. So I suppose this one should last at least the same amount of years?
Jog jog jog!

I so, so need a pair of running shoes. The current Nike one I have is so worn out. It has given be two dropped-off toes so far, in the span of a year. An alternative is to use my tennis shoes to run. That is even more disasterous! My toes were in pain, the bunion was inflammed.
Another RM100 over for a pair of shoes that might not last me even a year?
I wonder…
Early this year I have bought a pair of tennis shoes which I thought would last me real long. It is getting… well, worn out now. Guess footwear don’t last long, I suppose?
