I tried the famous Hummingbird’s cupcake last weekend.

It is beautifully packaged. Awfully sweet. Always recommended with a cup of tea or coffee, unless you can take just the sugar rush on its own.
I think the beauty of cupcakes is that it can be eaten during tea time with a group of friends while sipping a cup of hot English tea. Maybe redbush tea, if your friends wish. I would opt for coffee, perhaps. On the other end of the spectrum, cupcakes make the most wonderful birthday gifts as well. It is sweet, simple and most likely to be well received.

I took nearly 4 cups of black coffee today, so I decided against more coffee. Instead, I tried the Fortnum & Mason orange scented aromatic black tea my friend gave me.

It definitely tastes quite nice! I think I should start drinking more tea. The tin is so cute and exquisite. Lovin’ it so far! Shall drink this brew while reading a time traveller’s wife book.. yes, Audrey Niffenegger’s book.

I never really had the luxury of fresh milk when I was young. Coming to this British land, milk is relatively cheap and common. It is interesting to see how much I have changed throughout this few months of being here. I never used to add milk into my hot drinks.. I loved my coffee black. Tea or hot chocolate also went without milk. The me today cannot go without milk of late. I add milk to my coffee, tea and even hot chocolate. Sometimes omellette too! I opt for Cravendale milk because it is filtered, thus having a longer shelf life. 2 litres can last me up to 15 days..

It is always good to have the milky bit in your hot beverage… I just hope that it does not mean more calories!

Nowadays I get my caffeine boost almost everyday of the week. I usually take an “off” day on Sunday, but of late, coffee is very much required in my daily diet regime.
Today, surprisingly, I overdosed myself with tea (3 doses!) instead. I bought the basic red tea in tea bags from Sainsbury. It is less than 2 pounds for 160 tea bags! That’s really affordable. With a dash of fresh milk, I am off with hot milk tea. I start to enjoy basic tea now as well.

Coffee still rules, though! But tea is way easier to make. No need washing up of the cafetiere.. LOL! But I still love coffee by french press nonetheless.
No wonder I have diuresis… errghh!

I really should be paid for writing this but the actual fact is, I am NOT.
You see, it is a huge coffee culture here.. as far as I am concerned. I surprise myself that I can find the discipline to make coffee every morning with the Bodum and then bring it to university in my Starbucks stumbler. The downside to the Starbucks tumbler is that it is does not keep the coffee hot.
I was introduced to Brugo by a friend who was looking for tumblers. He ended up not buying it but for some reasons, my flatmate ended up buying one for herself after I told her about it. It says “spill proof” but somehow there was no cover for the tumbler. Even though the arrow is at ‘lock’, she ends up with coffee coming out..
Brugo oh brugo!
