The 8 in London

So the ATP World Tour Finals is starting in London’s O2 Arena. It is always a ‘joy’ to see sportsmen in suits. They either look awesomely smart (because we seldom spot them wearing so ’smart’) or they look completely out of place. I think they fared rather well, maybe with this exception of first time Grand Slam winner Juan Martin del Potro who looks rather slouchy in this photo. I think Roger Federer exudes that charisma, as usual.. and Andy Murray trying to stand really straight, in hope to be taller than Nadal (wait.. he is taller than Nadal, isn’t he?) Don’t forget Nikolay-looks-botak-Davydenko who looks really small amongst the guys.

Excuse me.. these guys are multi millionaires! They earn millions just being fit and hitting tennis balls. Make me feel rather lousy holding the retractors and watching my consultant cut out lymph nodes?

Wimbledon roof

I watched the live broadcast on Sunday night where Agassi, Graf, Henman and Clijster played an exhibition match at the Wimbledon Centre Court, trying out its new retractable roof. I would say it was amazing, considering the fact that it rains so often in London. As a matter of fact, it actually rained during the exhibition match. Isn’t the roof what it is all about?

The commentator even mentioned that the entire nation needs a roof! I hope I won’t be left aloof when it rains so commonly when I am there.

Love the green, green grass court. While we patiently awaits the most prestigious Wimbledon championships, we have more clay to showcase (at Roland Garros, of course)!

Being more open

I am back from working part time for a weekend. My verdict? I wouldn’t say the pay was good enough. However, I am trying to look beyong just monetary gains. To the very least, I met a few friends and widen my social network. I may still have my reservations on certain issues like swearing, smoking and drinking but I learn not to be too judgmental on these things when it comes to casual friends. Yes, I may still want to play my role as “Miss Doctor” who promotes healthy living, but honestly, it is more than that.

Happy new year 2009!

Whoa. So it is the last year of the year of 2008. It is indeed, 31st December 2008 today. My heart skips a bit everytime I think of the year coming to an end. So many things to reflect upon, so many resolutions to make for year 2009 and everything just overwhelms me.

I believe the whole city would be jammed packed tonight. Despite the so-called economy recession. Who cares? The youngsters are still having fun partying away in clubs. I beg to differ in this point of view. Yours truly would rather be sleeping or spending more quality time ushering in the new year. Not puffing or drinking away..

So how are you counting down the new year?

Maybe you should do it with with Orient watches. Exquisite stuff.
