“The biggest loser”

I must, must take charge of my life and start living healthily. No more mindless eating. No more messed up hormones. No more upside down metabolism.

It is so, so hard. It is so discouraging when I up my fitness level, yet I do not see the results. It is just after my trip that I realised how much weight I have gained. Didn’t help that the hotel room had a digital weighing machine for me to exactly see to the nearest point zero how much my weight is.

I need to lose 7 kg. I really do not want a yo-yo weight loss. No rebound. No pre-bulimic feel. No binge eating. No reflux.

What is wrong with me!

Being more open

I am back from working part time for a weekend. My verdict? I wouldn’t say the pay was good enough. However, I am trying to look beyong just monetary gains. To the very least, I met a few friends and widen my social network. I may still have my reservations on certain issues like swearing, smoking and drinking but I learn not to be too judgmental on these things when it comes to casual friends. Yes, I may still want to play my role as “Miss Doctor” who promotes healthy living, but honestly, it is more than that.

Water oven for healthy cooking

Last weekend, there was this cooking demo from Sharon who is an Amway distributor and my sis’s upline. She brought this Helsio water oven by Sharp to our place for the cooking demo. There was this super grill bread which was crunchy but not too dry. Then, she ‘fried’ chicken wings without oil. Rather, it was a grill-like way of cooking with steam. The water vapour helps create heat with moist, making the chicken wings really tasty and again, not dry. After the chicken wings, she did the succulent cabbage dish. Yummy and definitely healthy option of cooking.

The water oven is an ideal equipment for modern kitchen. It is definitely suitable for people who don’t really cook like me. However, with very cheap gas supply here in Miri, I think electrical appliances are a turn off for us.

I don’t mind investing in one if I am elsewhere, though.

Rubik’s mystery

I have actually seen this cube before during my early childhood days.

Little did I know that this Rubik’s cube sort of resurfaced as an “in-thing” not too long ago. I took out our worn out piece and tried my hands one it. I may be a slow learner, but I managed to learn how to unify one colour at the one side. Well, it is nothing, I know, but hey, a slow learner like me deserves some cheers of encouragement after learning one step.

Will I be able to solve the entire thing?

Stretch your dollar

I think I am starting this ‘Stretch Your Dollar’ corner in regards to the plumetting economy. Basically, I would just spill spontaneous and random ideas how to save your money yet not compromise in daily splurges.

Today, I would like to throw a very simple idea. Learn from the expert but grab the better deals off the shelves. For example, I have been eyeing the Artistry Gentle Action Makeup Remover. It is something like lotion which you put all over your face to remove makeup. However, it is RM61.

So what did I do?

I take that idea and went to search for a cheaper option.

I got this Demaq Expert Milk-To-Toner 2 in 1 Makeup Remover! It is only RM24.90.. stretching my dollars even more.

Yes, of course I would not be getting the exact same thing, but I have to compromise some quality for the amount of money, haven’t I? This product is also cream-like but the wonderful thing about it is that it transforms into colourless toner which makes it feel worth while. Well, I think I can live with L’Oreal another day.. it is, after all, not that bad a brand.

At the end of the day, I am still one happy girl.
