Funny monkey incident

So finally, I managed to have the chance to try my on my new running shoes.

To kill two birds with one stone, No. 3 seed brought along the dSLR camera to capture some photos. We overall snapped 250 photos! Amazing. The battery hasn’t drained out yet.

Anyway, I must highlight one funny incident. I saw this monkey eating so I quickly asked No. 3 seed to snap a picture. Estatic, she snapped away. Suddenly a huge flash and the monkey stared at her in anguish. She shrieked at a very high frequency.

Poor girl! She was so scared of the monkey after that. For one thing, monkeys are not cute Shoobies who would just come to you and you can hug them. Who knows the monkey gets agitated and end up scratching your camera lens?

Pretty scary thought..

An alternative to Loackers

I finally found an alternative to Loackers. Yes, that very expensive bite-size wafer snacks which are so yummy.

It is Italian. It is called Crich! It sells for only RM8.90 as compared to the usual Rm12 plus for Loackers for the same weight. They taste as nice, if not nicer than Loackers.

I found it at Jaya Grocer in Jaya 33. Can’t find it anywhere else as yet. Do let me know if you know where else you can get Crich.

Yes, I think at this point of time, it is quite crucial to look out for money-saving alternatives such as this. This discovery helps me to save a few dollars each time. How great is that?

A good meal

With the escalating cost of living in an urban Asian city, one can expect to pay for nearly 100 dollars local currency just for a so-called ‘decent’ meal.

Two glasses of fruit juice, one starter and one main meal. The bill comes up to more than 77 dollars local currency. Incredible?

Certainly unbelievable.

What can you do to stretch your dollar, middle-class friends?

For a start, boycott all so-called fine dining. Cook your own meals. Go economical.

Next, try not to go out that often. You just tend to spend more when you’re outside. Stay home, read a book, go online or go jog at the park. It is never easy to stretch the dollar.

All the best!

I like my hair now

I kinda like my hair now. I like having a full-fledged fringe. Yes, to hide that bald spot on the front parting I had previously. I like it that I can put down my hair. I like it neat, though it has never been neat.

Hair is indeed a very important physical asset. Have a bad hair day, you end up looking monsterous. I like my hair long and thick. It is pretty disappointing that I do not naturally have nice hair. I need chemical treatment that costs me hundreds to get me the today look.

Yes, I do rebond my hair. Almost every year. In fact, since the summer of 2004, I have had 5 rebond sessions. Cheapest RM140. The most expensive one was at the salon called Paul & Jennifer. They charged me a freaking RM250 for a hopeless result. Went back to complain, but were denied. Horrible service. Plain arrogance. I never wanted to go there anymore. If you ask me, all the bad comments go there.

I rather go to Danny’s at Pujut 5. I have done rebonding there three times, all three times gave me quite satisfying result. I didn’t get those super flat, goodness-it’s-like-paper thin hair, but I get some natural waves, like the one I am having now.

So next time you are in town, do not even step into Paul & Jennifer (the one in Imperial Mall, shamless to say!). They only look at how much $$ you’ve got in your wallet. Look like an ordinary student and you are given the Indon maid to do your hair.

Geram.

Yay, a pair of running shoes

I better pray for fair weather and good days for me to jog in the park with my new pair of running shoes. Yes, a good pair of running shoes.

It is light. It looks solid. It is size 4.5!!

I have real tiny feet. I could even fit in size 4, it is so unbelievable. But I ended up with 4.5 because I have been using 4.5 all along. The previous one lasted nearly half a decade. So I suppose this one should last at least the same amount of years?

Jog jog jog!
