Hi, I am the 2nd seed. This is me when I try to smile in photos..
‘

Yet, this is also me when I feel sporty and the hair all tied up…

Veep is my cousin in the photo, in case you’re wondering… oh, which leads me to show you a no-teeth-shown picture..

My first night back from home and the youngest sister made the number three and myself sit in front of the Toshiba laptop to watch Camp Rock.

Which we did..
It is a Disney movie, a very much expected line and a pleasant ending. I believe this tv movie has been a huge hit everywhere around the world. Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas, the main stars actually performed during the Arthur Ashe Kids Day at US Open.

A little Wiki-ing and I found a few random statements about these kids (note that I mention ‘kids’ as I found out that the eldest among them is still younger than myself. Whee!!) and find it delightfully surprising to find the Jonas brothers, Demi Lovato and her best friend Selena Gomez all wear purity rings. Young Americans learning about abstinence, that is really something, I suppose?
One small conclusion I can gather though - I am a teeny weeny bit too old for this movie. But it was fine. Every grown up woman has a little girl in her heart.

I bumped into this book in Borders yesterday. I was really interested in reading it. It was a biography of some sort of Pete Sampras, the fourteen-time Grand Slam winner, one whose record is still standing today. It goes into his early life when he started picking up tennis all the way until the day he retires. At the back of the book, there were write-ups on his rivals.

I flipped and started reading a few pages before I had to leave the bookstore. Before I left, I checked the price tag behind.
Guess what?
A gruesome, neck-wringing RM94.50! What in the world???!
How do you expect to cultivate healthy reading habits among Malaysians if books are going to be so expensive?
Not only that, this type of books is definitely not found in libraries. I think it is very unfair. The escalating living cost is going to choke us sooner or later.
Well, honestly, it has been choking most people.

It is funny how much we rant and yak away when we are loaded with so much work with so little time and in the midst of a terribly hectic schedule.
But when we are finally free, we do not use the time wisely. Instead, we ’squander’ the time away doing other things, or rather, not doing anything at all.

Oh, human nature..
Alright, take that away and what have we got?
Life’s like that. Nothing seems to be perfect or ideal.
As for me, I start to get phobias every time I find myself free. It is as if a warning creeping up to me that I would be horribly, disgustingly busy the very next day. It is like the half cup full or half cup empty perspective, I suppose.
Then again, keeping yourself busy isn’t the worst thing in the world. Sometimes we think to think too much when we have nothing to do.

An email reached me this morning from my president, suggesting that we organise a one-day fast with our Muslim friends to strengthen the Christian-Muslim relationship. Yes, Christianity and Islam have suffered quite strained relationships in the past, and should I say, even in the present days. To be able to fast together with them and break the fast together, I think it is something significant.
It made me ponder.. I came from a college with a majority of Muslim students, yet I never really took the initiative to at least fast with them. Instead, the fasting month only meant one thing - Bazaar Ramadhan and possibly, the McD Buka Puasa buffet.

Yes, I love those Bazaar Ramadhans.. I used to buy so much food every time the fasting month is around. It was pretty convenient in the area I stayed in because the Bazaar was just a stone’s throw away from my residential college. Just thinking about the food makes my salivary glands active again.
Oh well, time to sleep.
See if the fasting thing work or not.
